    An Integrative Approach
Integrative therapy takes ideas and techniques from different counseling theories and combines them to create a greater ability to tailor treatment to clients. The core of my approach to counseling is cognitive behavioral in nature. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy addresses faulty ways of thinking, learned patterns of behavior and involves helping a client to change dysfunctional thinking and behavioral patterns. I integrate:
    • Reality Therapy/Choice Theory (CBT based)
helping clients move from their attempts to control others to empowering them to control themselves and take responsibility for their own choices
    • Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (CBT based)
helping clients improve the way they think, addressing faulty, irrational thinking patterns and replacing them with healthy, rational patterns of thinking
    • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (CBT based)
helping clients learn skills for healthy emotional management and relationships
    • Person-Centered Therapy
helping clients move toward healthy psychological functioning through non-directive, client-driven interactions. Clients are considered to be the expert of their lives and believed to be motivated toward achieving their own goals and discovering their own solutions.
    • Biblically-Based Therapy (upon request)
helping clients move forward in life by addressing the spiritual aspects of life through the incorporation of Biblical concepts
